It's time to settle the score. On July 14, Ralf Schumacher revealed his homosexuality by posting a photo of himself and his partner Etienne Bousquet-Cassagne on his social networks. While his son David has shown him unwavering support, his ex-wife Cora Brinkmann does not share the same opinion. Speaking to the German media outlet Der Spiegel, the ex-wife of Michael Schumacher's brother said she felt used during their fourteen years of marriage.I would have liked Ralf to involve me or at least make me participate in his decision, it would have been a sign of respect”the German TV presenter said. She added: “When he announced it, it was like a knife to the heart. (…). Today, I feel used. I feel like I wasted my best years. I ask myself a lot of questions. Was he honest with me?”
While the 49-year-old former driver was quick to counterattack by revealing screenshots of a WhatsApp exchange from last year, in which Cora congratulated Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne for finding love in the arms of her ex-husband, her partner in turn wanted to set the record straight. In an interview with RTL, spotted this Monday, September 16 by our colleagues at The Expressthe 34-year-old said he was disappointed by the behavior of his dear and tender's ex-wife. “I thought we had a good connection with Cora”he confessed. Although he initially kept his partner's identity a mystery, Ralf Schumacher quickly put an end to the suspense about him. The day after his coming out, Corinna Betsch's brother-in-law revealed the face of his partner, a certain Etienne Bousquet-Cassagne. Unlike Ralf, the latter did not make a name for himself on the biggest Formula 1 circuits but on the political scene. The thirty-year-old ran in the cantonal, municipal and legislative elections in the Villeneuve-sur-Lot sector, in Lot-et-Garonne, under the label of the Front National, then the Rassemblement National. A career that he nevertheless abandoned in 2020, preferring to live a simple life far from politics and the cameras. Since then, Etienne Bousquet-Cassagne has remained very discreet about his private life, sharing a few publications concerning Schumacher Wines, the wine estate run by Ralf Schumacher.
