On September 3, more than a hundred employees of the Valeo plant in La Suze had already mobilized. Three walkout sessions had been organized, at the initiative of the inter-union of the Sarthe production site of the French automotive equipment manufacturer.
A first day of mobilization which followed the announcement of the sale of the suzerain site, on July 15, revealed by the management of the group, due to a drop in activity.
Mobilization at the group’s headquarters this Tuesday
The CGT and several other Valeo unions have announced that a protest action will be held this Tuesday at the group’s headquarters in Paris. Representatives of the inter-union at the La Suze plant, which employs 270 people, have decided to follow suit.
Several work stoppages are planned for this Tuesday throughout the day, to allow the different teams on duty (morning, day, evening) to join in the demands.
A buyer is being sought for the Sarthe plant, in accordance with the Florange law of 2014, which requires any company with more than 1,000 employees wishing to close a site in France to seek a new buyer. Management has indicated that it will give itself until October 15 to make its decision.
