Largely favourites on paper, the Spanish are hoping to continue their very good start to the season against the Germans from Stuttgart, authors of a historic season with a second place snatched on the last day last year. Despite a more complicated start to the season, Sebastian Hoeness' men want to take advantage of their success this weekend, determined not to be just a figurehead this Tuesday, September 17 in Madrid.

Undefeated at the start of the season, Madrid will play their second European match of the season after their success in the UEFA Super Cup final against Bergamo in August. For his entry into the Champions League, Carlo Ancelotti will be able to count on the returns of Jude Bellingham, Eder Militao and Aurélien Tchouaméni. It remains to be seen whether they will be able to hold their starting place on Tuesday evening.

For their part, VFB Stuttgart should line up a similar line-up to that of last weekend, with an in-form Emerdin Demirovic, author of a double, on two assists from the Swiss Fabian Rieder.
