Tito Jackson, brother of singer Michael Jackson and member of the Jackson Five, died suddenly on September 15, 2024, at age 70.

Singer Toriano “Tito” Jackson, a member of the Jackson Five, died suddenly at the age of 70 on Sunday, September 15, his sons announced. The singer’s three sons took to their Instagram account to share the news: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved father, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member Tito Jackson, is no longer with us. We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken. Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being,” wrote TJ, Taj and Taryll Jackson.

While the cause of his death has not been released, Steve Manning, the former manager of the Jackson Five, told “Entertainment Tonight” that Tito suffered a heart attack while driving from New Mexico to Oklahoma.

A family of artists

While Tito Jackson was known for being a member of the famous Jackson Five and the older brother of Michael Jackson, he also passed on his passion for music to his sons, who were also artists.

The three boys, born from his relationship with Delores Martes Jackson, form the pop/RnB group “3T”. They wanted to pay tribute to their father by sending a final message to his fans: “Please remember to do what our father preached and that is: love one another. We love you dad. Your boys, Taj, Taryll and TJ.”

They’re not the only Jackson kids to have gotten into music. Jackson, the King of Pop’s daughter, is also a singer-songwriter.
