While around 310 three-way races, with a few four-way races, were possible after the first round, just over 210 candidates decided to withdraw, most often to try to prevent a victory for the National Rally in their constituency. According to a count carried out by LCP, 216 candidates have decided to withdrawin the vast majority of cases to try to block the road to the National Rally in their constituency. These are mainly candidates who came from the New Popular Front (about 130) and the presidential coalition Together (81, according to a Renaissance press release).
On the 501 constituencies still in play After the first round, in which 76 deputies have already been elected, there remains less than 100 triangularmost frequently in constituencies where, when it is still present, the National Rally is not a priori in a position of strength in the perspective of the second round.
