L’Etoile Sportive took stock of its season at the general assembly on Friday June 28? A rather successful season which saw the establishment of a new dynamic.

In the absence of the president Franck Prido, who was detained by his work, the general meeting of the football club, Étoile Sportive du Foeil, was chaired this Friday, June 28, by the club secretary, Adrien Paul. He conveyed the president’s message. After a rather complicated 2022-2023 season, the objective for the leaders and the new coach André Mendy was to revive the club, which had been relegated to D2. A new dynamic was initiated with the investment of the elders who made it possible to line up a B team and the start of the restart of the football school.

Already sixteen young people at football school

In terms of results, the pennant team finished honorably in the middle of the table. For B, after a good start to the season, the second part was more difficult. On the satisfaction side, we note the good atmosphere within the club and everyone’s investment in the association’s events. A winning investment which made it possible to substantially boost the finances of the ESF, in particular thanks to revenue from scrap metal collection.

Riding this good wave, the club has new ambitions for the 2024-2025 season, particularly at the football school level, where sixteen young people are already registered. Recruitment will continue among schoolchildren and the club will be present at the associations forum on September 7 in Quintin.

The restart of women

Among the other objectives, we will cite work on the image of the club, strengthening links with partners and associations in the municipality. Also in sight, the restart of the women’s team with, initially, a leisure football team under the leadership of Sarah Le Roy.

L’Étoile Sportive having turned 50, this anniversary will be honored on May 1, 2025. Among the other dates on the agenda: the lottery on September 20 and an indoor meal on October 12. The meeting closed with the renewal of the office, Maëlyse Le Négaret, Alexandre Guéguo, Marc Raoult were elected to replace the outgoing Franck Prido, David Gouriou and Damien Jouan.
