Severe thunderstorm watches and warnings issued by Environment Canada in the afternoon in New Brunswick were lifted mid-evening Sunday.
The weather service was monitoring conditions conducive to the formation of dangerous thunderstorms that could produce gusts, damage and large hail.
Severe thunderstorm warnings have been issued for most of the province, as well as alerts for a few regions, such as Restigouche.
Tornado Warnings Lifted
Environment Canada also issued a tornado warning shortly after 4:45 p.m. Sunday for parts of New Brunswick. This agency’s radar then showed a potential tornado near Renous and Grey Rapids.
The warning was lifted shortly afterwards.
