The best Sinner of the tournament makes no concessions to De Minaur

In what was probably his best match of the tournament so far, Jannik Sinner made no concessions to Alex de Minaur (ATP 8) defeating him 6-3 6-2 6-1 in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open. The world number 1 started off strong straight away and took the first half into his own thanks to a break in the 4th game. The home favorite tried to resist the Italian in the second set too, but the second extension in the 5th game ended the game. Even the last partial was without history. The South Tyrolean is expected in the penultimate act by Ben Shelton (20), who avoided the Italian derby by beating Lorenzo Sonego (55) 6-4 7-5 4-6 7-6 (7/4).

In the women’s draw, the clear path of Iga Swiatek (WTA 2) continues, the only one who has not yet conceded a set in the entire tournament. Even against the American Emma Navarro (8) there was practically no match, given that the Pole qualified for the next round thanks to a clear 6-1 6-2. In the semi-final she will face the other American Madison Keys (14), who for her part beat the Ukrainian Elina Svitolina (27) 3-6 6-3 6-4.
