‘Gimenez wants to leave Feyenoord and reaches an agreement in principle with AC Milan’

Santiago Gimenez has set his sights on a winter transfer to AC Milan. La Gazzetta dello Sport announces this news. The Italians are said to have already reached an agreement in principle with the Feyenoord striker.

Gimenez will inform Feyenoord ‘in the coming hours’ that he wants to transfer to AC Milan, Italy said on Wednesday morning. It is no secret that the Mexican is doing well at San Siro. On the last day of the summer transfer period, Milan was already concrete, but they lacked the time and money to convince Feyenoord.

Now it still has to happen: Gimenez has set his sights on a move to Serie A. However, Feyenoord will not leave him without a fight. The Rotterdammers do not want to cooperate in a winter transfer in principle, but according to La Gazzetta dello Sport they would like to appear at the negotiating table if forty million euros are offered.

That amount is too much for Milan at the moment. However, Tijjani Reijnders’ club could meet Feyenoord’s wishes with a bonus construction, which would still allow forty million euros to be transferred to Rotterdam in the future.

It is expected that agent Rafaela Pimenta and father Christian Gimenez will now actively intervene in the negotiations so that the transfer can be completed. Gimenez and Milan are said to have already agreed on contract terms. That was ‘simple’, because the Mexican would earn less than one million euros net in De Kuip.

The intention is for Gimenez – together with Kyle Walker, who comes over from Manchester City – to make his debut for AC Milan on Sunday, February 2. Then the city derby against Internazionale is on the program. In any case, the 23-year-old striker will play for Feyenoord in the Champions League against Bayern Munich on Wednesday evening.
