Financial Judicial Pool / Scandal at the Ministry of Energy: the former manager under arrest warrant for fraud and money laundering

XALIMANEWS-Among the cases handled by the Financial Judicial Pool is that of the former manager of the Ministry of Energy and Oil, Ousmane Diallo. According to the newspaper Libération, he is one of 162 people arrested and prosecuted by the Financial Prosecutor’s Office.

According to this Wednesday’s edition of Libération, judicial information requested by the Financial Prosecutor’s Office led to the indictment of Ousmane Diallo. He has been placed under arrest warrant for fraud against public funds and money laundering for several weeks.

Ousmane Diallo is accused of having entered into a corruption pact with suppliers, promising them public contracts in exchange for money rebates. Still according to Libération, the suppliers paid him a total sum of around 200 million FCFA.

Dissatisfied with not getting their money back, these suppliers decided to file a complaint after the change in regime.

After recognizing the facts, Ousmane Diallo, also president of Darou Médine’s And Nawlé movement and Benno’s ally in Saint-Louis, proposed a repayment plan to avoid prison. This attempt, however, was unsuccessful.
