Only 19% of French companies clearly plan to hire, while 43% remain undecided and 38% are not considering new processes. This is the conclusion of Michael Page in his first assessment of the year 2025. “This slowdown is symptomatic of a situation which encourages reserve, but it also reflects persistent structural problems” adds the firm. “59% of managers anticipate recruitment difficulties in the year” because “the skills available on the market and labor needs still do not meet”.
Michael Page specifies that the health, tech and even industrial sectors “still struggle to recruit talent with the necessary technical skills”.
