Meghan Markle’s image makeover faces setback amid allegations | English Movie News

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s attempts to rebuild their public image have encountered significant challenges. A new Vanity Fair profile, published to mark five years since the couple stepped back from royal duties, has resurfaced allegations of bullying against Meghan, casting a shadow over her rebranding efforts.
Former staff members reportedly shared troubling accounts of their time working with Meghan, claiming the experience was so difficult that some sought therapy. These allegations echo similar accusations from her days at Kensington Palace. Royal expert Tom Bower described the situation as a major setback, suggesting it undermines Meghan’s effort to portray herself as kind and approachable.
Bower remarked that the renewed focus on Meghan’s alleged behavior paints her as a demanding figure, which conflicts with the compassionate image she is trying to project. He called the allegations a “disaster” for her plans to refresh her public persona.
One key element of Meghan’s rebranding is her upcoming Netflix lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, scheduled for release in March. The show aims to showcase her as a devoted wife and mother living in California. However, early reactions to the project have been underwhelming, with critics dismissing it as overly sentimental and lacking substance.
The Vanity Fair article also portrayed Prince Harry in an unfavorable light, describing him as “naive” and “out of his depth.” This further compounded the challenges the couple faces in reshaping their public image as a team.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams noted that allegations against Meghan overshadow the couple’s charitable work, making it harder for them to regain public trust. Additionally, he speculated that Netflix might rethink its partnership with the Sussexes once their current deal expires.
These developments highlight the uphill battle Meghan and Harry face in trying to rebuild their reputation and establish a positive brand beyond their royal connections.
