The draw for the round of 16 of the Coupe de France was made this Thursday evening on the Bein Sports set by Daniel Narcisse, the former handball player.
It still concerned eight Ligue 1 teams, including OGC Nice, as well as AS Cannes (National 2).
The Cannes residents inherited Dives-Cabourg (N3), the little thumb of the competition, winner of Puy (N2) in the round of 16. “It’s the worst draw for us. Playing during the week, against a formidable team”reacted Philippe Clément, the coach of the Normans.
Damien Ott's Cannes, residents of National 2, had achieved the feat of eliminating Lorient (2-1), leader of Ligue 2, on Wednesday in the 16th final and Grenoble (L2) in the 32nd final.
The Niçois, 4th in Ligue 1, were ''preserved'' during the draw since they will have to travel to the pitch at Stade Briochin, a team ranked 9th in National 2, which took out Annecy (Ligue 2) in 16th of final.
-Franck Haise's men had eliminated Corte (N3) and Bastia (L2) during their two matches.
