#SGESCF – please continue in the text

In the press conference before today’s game against SC Freiburg, the coach said that the win against St. Pauli could have been something of a turnaround. Then the team should now please continue on the chosen path. Because with a win you could put a direct competitor for the European starting places at a distance.

In the last ten league games against this opponent there were only three defeats at home in the Waldstadion, but also only four wins and, logically, three draws. Both teams also had four wins from the last ten games, with the glorious SGE drawing once and losing five games, while Freiburg recorded three draws and therefore only three defeats. Both rather mixed for the third and sixth of the current game round. What is noteworthy, however, is that Freiburg has only been able to win two games on foreign grounds so far, on the 5th matchday in Heidenheim and on the 6th matchday in Bremen. The match will be refereed by Sven Jablonski from Bremen, under whose leadership Eintracht remained unbeaten last season at Union Berlin (3-0) and against VfL Bochum (1-1).

Dino Toppmöller has plenty of personnel to draw from, only Amenda is still missing. For me, the statements at the PK speak for a back four and possibly Tuta in the six position. And according to the coach, Marmoush will definitely be in the starting line-up. That should help. I could imagine Dino doing something unconventional for Eintracht 2024/25 – a 4-2-3-1. Something like this:

In any case, it is important to stay on track for the first of three home games in a row. This can also provide the necessary drive for the following games against BVB and Ferencvaros Budapest.

Oh yes, and another note about our great cover photo that dear Christine provided us with. For everyone from the glorious SBU environment who sees themselves called upon to design and hold up posters, banners or the like – this is what a good poster looks like.
