In recent hours, this skipper of Macif has further increased his lead over his great rival Yoann Richomme (Paprec Arkéa), who is once again more than 190 miles away from him.

This gap should however decrease a little because the duo will find weaker winds as they approach Les Sables d'Olonne. The leader of the race has already felt the first effects of this drop in wind, since he was sailing on Monday morning at around 15 knots, while his rival maintains a good 20 knots. “For the moment it’s concentration, continuing to rest, eating well… I’m not thinking too much about the finish”explained the first in the ranking.

Barring disaster, Charlie Dalin will nevertheless largely beat the record for the event, held since 2017 by Armel Le Cléac'h in 74 days, 3 hours and 35 minutes and 46 seconds. It should in fact cross the finish line between 5 a.m. and 11 a.m. Tuesday January 14, after having traveled around the world in less than 65 days.
