Why can’t it be seen open on TV if they are two Spanish teams?
Hello, José! The broadcasting rights for the Super Cup are held by Movistar. There is no obligation for the meeting to be open because it is not included in Law 13/2022, of July 7, General Audiovisual Communication.
This, in its article 146.3, regulates a catalog of events of general interest to society in which the semifinals or the final of the Spanish Super Cup are not included.
These are the events included in this catalog and that take place openly by law in Spain.
a) The Olympic and Paralympic winter and summer games.
b) The official matches of the absolute Spanish men’s and women’s Football and basketball teams.
c) The semi-finals and the final, both men’s and women’s, of the European Football Championship and the World Cup.
d) The semi-finals and finals of the Copa del Rey and the Copa de la Reina football.
e) One match per day of the Professional Football League of the First Division and the RFEF Women’s First Division, designated at least ten days in advance.
f) Motorsport Grand Prix held in Spain.
g) Motorcycle Grand Prix held in Spain.
h) Participation of the Spanish Men’s and Women’s Absolute National Team in the European and World Handball Championships.
i) The Cycling Tour of Spain.
j) The World Cycling Championship.
k) Spanish participation in the Davis Cup tennis and the FED Cup.
l) The participation of tennis players of Spanish nationality in the semifinals and final of Roland Garros.
m) Spanish participation in the World and European Athletics and Swimming Championships.
n) Grand prizes or national and international competitions that are held in Spain and have state or regional public subsidy.
ñ) Goya Awards Gala.
o) MAX Awards Gala.
