After the Pittsburgh Steelers 28-14 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, head coach Mike Tomlin addressed the media. A humble Tomlin came to the microphone and was more than willing to swallow his pride and give all credit to the Ravens, and in particular quarterback Lamar Jackson for the team’s success.
To listen to Tomlin, Jackson is some sort of NFL unicorn and the Steelers have no answer for him. But prior to these last two matchups, the Steelers have had an answer. Jackson’s mobility and athleticism were not a deal breaker for Pittsburgh until recently which points back to the Steelers being more of the reason for this loss than the impact of Jackson.
Jackson finished with 175 passing yards and 81 yards rushing. Jackson threw for two scores despite not having wide receiver Zay Flowers.
There’s no doubt Jackson made it look easy on Saturday night but for much of the game, the Steelers defense didn’t offer much resistance.
