Friday is a FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Saturday due to snow that will impact travel across the region.

Friday morning will be cloudy with temperatures starting in the teens rising into the 20s. Snow showers will begin to move in from the southwest and move to the northeast through the early afternoon. Snow will be widespread throughout the afternoon into the evening. Though the snow will be fairly light, pockets of moderate snow will be possible in the late afternoon. This snow will impact travel as snow-covered roads will cause slick conditions and slowdowns for the afternoon and evening commute. Temperatures will be steady in the mid 20s in the afternoon under cloudy skies.

Snow will become widely scattered in the late evening and overnight and will end by Saturday morning with only a few flurries possible Saturday morning and midday.

Total snowfall accumulations will generally range between 2″ to 4″ with local amounts up to 5″ possible, depending on where the aforementioned moderate band of snow develops.

At this time, it looks like the highest amounts of snowfall could be along and west of I-75. If anything changes, we’ll let you know!

Saturday will be cloudy with highs in the mid-to-upper 20s with only a few flurries possible during the first half of the day. Saturday night will have partial clearing, which will allow temperatures to fall in the teens.

Sunday as temperatures in the afternoon crawl up to 33° in Cincinnati! This is the “mildest” day in the extended forecast as colder air moves back in next week.

A cold front will move into the Ohio Valley early next week and could bring a few snow flurries or very light snow showers on Monday along with cloudy skies. Temperatures will hover around freezing in the low 30s ahead of the front, but conditions will be much colder once again going into Tuesday.

Temperatures will remain well-below normal through the middle of next week with highs in the 20s and lows in the single digits, though it will be dry! Cold, but dry!
