Leclerc sees Hamilton as a key asset to take Ferrari to the title

Charles Leclerc enthusiastically welcomes the arrival of Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari, hoping that this new collaboration will mark a turning point for the Scuderia and help it win another world title.

Rather than fearing competition from a seven-time champion, the Monegasque says he is inspired by his 40-year-old teammate, convinced that his presence will bring new impetus to Ferrari, while the Italian firm has been waiting for a world title for 17 years now.

Lewis Hamilton, who officially joined the team at the start of January, is beginning a period of intense adaptation to the procedures at Maranello, with the aim of being ready for the season kick-off in Australia.

Charles Leclerc is convinced that his new teammate “will bring a lot of motivation”. Speaking to RacingNews365 at the end of last season, he added: “Everyone is already super motivated.

“But when a seven-time champion joins the team and it’s obviously the biggest development in recent years, it energizes the team. Everyone is proud to be part of this story, and we all want this story to be as successful as possible, and for me, the most beneficial for Ferrari.

Obviously emphasizing his personal ambitions, Charles Leclerc declared: “And then, of course, there’s me too. I want this story to be super good and successful. But I also want to be part of this story and contribute my part, because I dream of being Formula 1 world champion, so it will be very interesting.

I always said that I was very excited because, on the one hand, I will learn from one of the best, and on the other hand, it is also a great opportunity for me to be able to show what I can face such an incredible pilot. I always try to be at the top of my game, but with Lewis it also motivates me a lot”, concluded the Monegasque pilot.
