The little one Timothy makes his parents happy, Claire and Guillaume.
Coming into the world on Wednesday January 1, 2025 at 6:32 a.m., he is first baby of the year born at Vitré maternity ward (Ille-et-Vilaine).
The baby arrives earlier than expected
Arriving a little after 7 p.m. at the hospital center on Tuesday, December 31, Claire had to wait a few hours before the birth of her first child.
“The birth went well,” smiles the young woman who celebrates her 29th birthday on Friday January 3.
The start of the year is festive for the little family who lives in Balazé.
It must also be said that Timothée, weighing 3.5 kg, arrived a little earlier than expected. “The deadline was January 7,” confides Claire Tireau.
The couple had planned their New Year's Eve party with friends, but Timothée had seen things differently.
So the evening finally took place at the maternity ward.
A “top” team
“We experienced a moment full of emotions,” smiles Guillaume Hamard. A farmer in Balazé, he has been going back and forth between the farm and the hospital since birth.
“It’s sporty,” continues the 29-year-old young dad who insists on sleeping in the maternity room every night.
But he and Claire can count on a “top-notch” maternity team to support them.
“We are taught how to change it, wash it and take care of it. These are all good practices,” explains Claire, who works at Thales in Étrelles.
A few more hours at the maternity ward and Claire and Timothée, who met at Sainte-Marie college in Vitré, will be able to join the family cocoon in Balazé. The return home is planned for Sunday morning.
