In the middle of Christmas night, a tragedy took place in France. A train driver committed suicide by jumping from a moving train on the Paris-Sud-Est line. In the trains, the passengers were far from imagining what was happening, simply deploring significant delays.

In the middle of Christmas night, a tragedy took place in France. A train driver committed suicide by jumping from a moving train on the Paris-Sud-Est line. In the trains, the passengers were far from imagining what was happening, simply deploring significant delays.
The incident is extremely rare. According to the SNCF, a driver took his own life while the train was moving. The safety device activated and immobilized the train.
The tragedy took place on Tuesday December 24 at 8:00 p.m. in the south of Seine-et-Marne. This Wednesday morning, the passengers who remained stranded could not believe it. “We can't imagine that a driverless train could leave on its own, it could have been much more serious. It could have been an entire train running away with many passengers inside,” says an SNCF user.
The incident had significant consequences on traffic. Six trains were blocked and around ten others delayed. On board, the passengers did not expect to experience such a Christmas Eve. The circumstances of the tragedy were then unknown.
