Météo France's yellow vigilance has been lifted for this Tuesday, December 24. In the Var department, the wind is weakening and remains to be restored following the damage caused during the day on Monday.

This Tuesday morning, 1,081 Var households were without electricity, notably after trees fell on the Enedis distribution network. Agents are hard at work to resupply all Var residents before Christmas Eve, said the prefect of Var in a press release.

Around noon, 700 homes were still waiting for power to be restored in the afternoon.

During the day of Monday, firefighters carried out around a hundred interventions, including around forty in the sector alone on Monday evening.

Sometimes impressive tree falls, as in the Luquette park in Hyères, where a car was destroyed late Monday morning, fortunately without causing any injuries.

Impressive damage also on the Carqueiranne side where forestry agents are hard at work:

Also on Monday morning, trains were blocked for two hours between Toulon and due to the fall of a tree on the railway near Cuers.

This Tuesday, the mistral is still blowing with localized gusts, of 40 to 60 km/h, but it should have weakened in the evening.
