“The composition of François Bayrou's government reflects a choice of unity and experience, but it will have to quickly demonstrate its ability to meet the expectations of the French. As president of the Var Departmental Council, I am particularly vigilant about decisions that will have a direct impact on local communities and our fellow citizens.
The Var, like many departments, faces considerable challenges: the rise in social needs, infrastructure management, and ecological transition issues. I expect this government to make clear commitments in favor of a strengthened partnership with local authorities, in particular to compensate for reductions in allocations and support local investments. I hope that this new government will adopt a working method based on listening and consultation, fully involving local elected officials in decisions that affect our territories. For my part, I will remain a constructive, but demanding, partner in the interest of the inhabitants of Var.”
