This Sunday, December 22, 2024, TFX is offering a special evening The Boom with the broadcast of the two cult films with Sophie Marceau Claude Brasseur (died in December 2020), Brigitte Fossey et Denise Grey. From 9:10 p.m., The Boom 2 will open the evening before the rebroadcast of the first part, released in 1980, at 11:10 p.m.
As a reminder, The Boom stars Vic, a role which allowed Sophie Marceau to be revealed to the general public. After a difficult start, the film Claude Pinoteau was acclaimed by the French. It has accumulated nearly 4.4 million entries.
“Reality” refused by Gilbert Montagné!
Besides the story of Vic, his parents and friends, The Boom was carried by « Reality ». The tube of Richard Sanderson ranked number one on the charts in around fifteen countries, selling eight million copies. But Richard Sanderson shouldn't have played it.
Indeed, Gilbert Montagnéwho will have a series of successes with “We are going to love each other” et “Sunlights of the tropics”refused to lend his voice to « Reality ». While wanting to perform his own songs, the singer did not have the right range.
Pierre Cosso preferred to Patrick Bruel
Faced with the success of its first part, The Boom had a sequel in 1982. Still carried by Sophie Marceau, Claude Brasseur and Denise Grey, the film The Boom 2 was seen by nearly 4.1 million spectators in cinemas.
While she was crowned with the César for Most Promising Actress, Sophie Marceau was deprived of responding to Patrick Bruel. The singer and actor came second in the casting for the role of Philippe Berthier. The director Claude Pinoteau preferred Pierre Cosso after believing that Patrick Bruel did not “didn’t make young girls dream”. The unforgettable interpreter of “Crack your voice” will finally find Sophie Marceau through the film “You want it or you don’t want it”released in 2014.
