Bayern Munich star Harry Kane appreciates the win, but acknowledges football took a backseat on Friday

Bayern Munich star Harry Kane tried to balance his postgame press obligations, while also acknowledge the tragedy in Magdeburg.

Kane, who returned to the lineup after a hamstring injury, turned in a solid effort for the Bavarians despite not getting onto the scoresheet.

“Sometimes there are more important things than football. In the game we produced a good performance. We were very dominant, moved the ball well and were good in our counter-pressing,” said Kane (as captured by FCBayern.com). “It’s a good way to round off the year. It’s always important for the feeling, you always want to go into a break with a win. We’re top of the table, which gives us a good feeling for the new year. We can enjoy the break a bit but then it’s about looking ahead.”

Kane knows how important the team’s second half performance is and how this victory sends the squad into the break with a good feeling about what happened on the field. As was obvious in his interview, though, the luster of the victory was dulled by the news of what happened in Magdeburg.
