The 27-year-old is significantly more experienced than Macuga before her. This Super-G is her 100th race in the World Cup. And Pirovano is doing well. She is sixth, seven tenths behind.

The American, who is only 22 years old, impressed at the start in Beaver Creek with places 4 and 12. A small side note: When Lindsey Vonn started in the World Cup for the first time, she wasn't even born yet. Today she is her teammate. And below Macuga is doing really well: 6th place.

Your teammate Hütter is leading, what does Venier show? She's also keeping up at the top, but by the second split she's already four tenths behind. And just before the finish, she flies far in the last wave and escapes into the next gate – but of course that costs a lot of time. Venier is currently twelfth.

And another Italian belongs to the top group in the Super-G. Bassino is world champion in this discipline. And, of all things, quickly in the glider section above. Then she misjudged and almost missed a goal. Bassino saves himself – and takes 9th place.

The next Italian has started. A year ago I was injured in this race and missed the rest of the season. Apparently she digested that, attacked Curtoni – and came fourth. It was a really strong ride – especially with this history.

The Czech, who shines on one board and two boards, achieved the big coup in Pyeongchang in 2018 and became Olympic champion not only in snowboarding – but also in the Alpine skiing category in the Super-G. In this race too, she at least keeps up well at the top, but then Ledecka also loses time. She is fifth, 75 hundredths behind Hütter.

The Austrian is 23 hundredths faster than her teammate at the top. However, Puchner then loses half a second in the first technical passages. At the finish it is 76 hundredths, 5th place.

The Italian is also one of the favorites. And the strong technician is already keeping up at the top, where it's all about gliding skills. This is going to be tight. But it's not enough for Brignone. She loses 43 hundredths – Hütter remains in the lead, Gut-Behrami is still second.

After Ragnhild Mowinckel's retirement, the Norwegian is the best speed driver in her country. She starts well, but continually loses time. At the finish it is 1.42 seconds, giving us 6th place.

Last winter's best downhill skier started the speed season with a victory and came fourth in the Super-G. Here the Austrian lost 32 hundredths to Gut-Behrami until the second intermediate time, but then caught up. Is that enough? Yes, by 18 hundredths. Hütter is the new leader.

She also returned after an injury and how: with ranks 2 and 1 in Beaver Creek. And Goggia also risks a lot – but it's not enough. Gut-Behrami stays in front. Goggia loses 15 hundredths.

Now the top favorite comes from Switzerland. The 33-year-old arrived from Beaver Creek in 3rd and 2nd place. She keeps up at the top and is only 13 hundredths behind Suter. Then come her passages with the many curves, the turns are wonderful, then she loses her footing when she jumps and almost misses the next goal. But everything goes well, Gut-Behrami is 62 hundredths faster than Suter and waves to the audience.

The Schwyzer native returned to Beaver Creek after tearing her cruciate ligament in Cortina d'Ampezzo. And in St. Moritz she gets off to a brilliant start, she is 36 hundredths ahead of Melesi. It's not Suter's ultimate attack, but it's a clean ride. She is 21 hundredths faster than the Italian.

The second French woman is on the way. In the Super-G in St. Moritz she made it onto the podium in third place in 2022. Today she is running solidly – until she drives too directly towards one goal and misses the next one. Fourth driver, second failure.

After her marriage in the summer, the German woman has a significantly longer name. She fell during training at Beaver Creek and complains of knee pain. She loses 88 hundredths on Melesi.

After a short break we continue with the Italian Roberta Melesi. She is just as fast as Gauché before her. In contrast to the Frenchwoman, she made it to the finish and set a first target time: 1:16.19 minutes.

The Frenchwoman opens the race. It's a pretty clean run from Gauché, although not with full risk – and yet she falls shortly before the finish. It twists her legs when she falls. But she can get up and drives to the finish line on her own.

Everything is ready for a spectacle in St. Moritz. The sun is shining, the temperatures are cold, it couldn't be better.

The home fans are particularly hoping for Lara Gut-Behrami, who is already starting the race with starting number 6. The 33-year-old won her first World Cup race in St. Moritz 16 years ago – a Super-G. To date she has been on the podium eight times. And her current form also seems to be right again after she failed at the season opener in Sölden still had to give forfeit. At the first speed races in Beaver Creek a week ago, she came third in the downhill and second in the super-G.

But Gut-Behrami is not the first Swiss woman to take part. This is Corinne Suter with number 5. In addition to the two of them, eight other Swiss women will throw themselves down the Corviglia: Michelle Gisin (20), Jasmina Suter (22), Priska Ming-Nufer (24), Joana Hählen (25), Delia Durrer (29), Malorie Blanc (33), Stephanie Jenal (35) and Janine Schmitt (41).

Immediately after the top 30 athletes in the Super-G, the excitement will increase again. Then the former speed queen Lindsey Vonn makes her comeback – more than five years after her retirement. In Beaver Creek, the 40-year-old, who drives with a partial prosthesis in her right knee, was already impressive as a forerunner. And now the American is really back in the World Cup, with start number 31. How is she doing?
