The mayor of Magdeburg, Simone Borris announced that a celebration will be organized this Saturday in the main church of this town of 250,000 inhabitants damaged by a car-ramming attack the day before.

«We intend to organize together Saturday evening, at 7 p.m., an hour of commemoration», declared the mayor of Magdeburg. A memorial service will be organized in the main church of this town of 250,000 inhabitants, located on the territory of the former communist GDR.
The city center square dedicated to the Christmas market will be transformed into a place of meditation, where Chancellor Olaf Scholz is expected this Saturday. The first bouquets of flowers were left by passers-by, local media report.
