Gary Neville reacted to Tottenham v Manchester United.

Fraser Forster gifting Manchester United their first goal in Tottenham Hotspur’s EFL Cup victory on Thursday left Gary Neville in shock.
Sky Sports Football posted on X (19 December) as Neville reacted to Forster passing the ball inside his six-yard box straight to Bruno Fernandes, who teed up Joshua Zirkzee to tap in from close range.
Spurs had been 3-0 up and cruising at the time of Forster’s blunder, and another error from the keeper saw United narrow the gap again before Son Heung-min sent the hosts back on course for a 4-3 win.
“That is ridiculous from Spurs,” he said.
“This… I mean wow. He’s not amazing with the ball at his feet, Fraser Forster, but he doesn’t even look where Bruno Fernandes is – he’s not aware at all.”
Fraser Forster error almost costs Tottenham v Manchester United
Imagine being 3-0 up and coasting towards a first-ever cup semi-final of your Spurs tenure when you see your last line of defence – only in the team due to Guglielmo Vicario’s injury – gift the opposition a goal.
Spare a thought then, for Ange Postecoglou, whose side had extended their half-time advantage twice in the opening nine minutes of the second half before Forster’s errors almost undid all of their good work.
Fernandes may have had some success against Pape Sarr in the first half at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but he and Zirkzee won’t have expected to be given a gift-wrapped goal by the Spurs keeper.
Christmas looked to have come six days early for the visitors as the balance swung massively into their favour, but Postecoglou’s attack-first mantra won out in the end as Spurs kept the ball away from Forster.
The 36-year-old hasn’t had this much game-time in a Lilywhites shirt for almost two years, and it’s clear that Vicario’s return can’t come soon enough for Postecoglou if his side want to win the EFL Cup.
