NATIONAL SUMMARY
A clipper storm will travel from the Upper Midwest today to
the interior Northeast late tonight. Snow in Wisconsin and
Minnesota will be heavy in some areas and can lead to
rapidly deteriorating visibility and travel conditions. It
will be very windy across the northern Plains and northern
Rockies. Wind gusts of 30-50 mph can lead to localized power
outages and blow around loose objects. Where snow recently
fell, extensive blowing and drifting will occur. Meanwhile,
a bit of rain will approach Washington and Oregon late in
the day and night. Much of the rest of the nation will be
dry, except for the Atlantic coast of Florida, where there
can spotty thundershowers. Cool to colder air will expand
over the Plains. Patchy fog is expected to start the day in
California’s Central Valley before breaking for sunshine.
