Report on the success of the tractor parades during the end-of-year holidays, with the JA des Côtes-d’Armor agricultural union.

Born in Germany, the concept was imported to by young farmers from the canton of Bgard, in Côtes d’Armor and in a few years, the illuminated tractor parades have met with real success which is developing almost everywhere in the west .

There are now thousands of people waiting for the processions on the roadsides, to the delight of farmers who wish to end the year on a positive note, as confirmed by Pierre-Marie Henry, from the JA des Côtes d’union. Armor.

“We were a bit the first in France to launch this during the Covid period! Basically, it was mainly to get out of the gloomy atmosphere and afterwards, there was the “desire” to be seen and to be seen well seen by the population. It’s a way for us to put tractors on the roads without alienating everyone. It was what we wanted and now it has become a traditional end-of-year celebration for the JA… We wait for it all year long, and we can’t wait to do it again. We can see it clearly, we were late in announcing our parade and people were sending us messages on our Facebook page to find out if we were doing it, and if so when and where we were passing by!”

With these Christmas parades, farmers come out of the fields and also change their minds according to Pierre-Marie Henry. “TEvery year, we innovate, we add new tanks and remove others… We use sets that we use to do something else. We’re trying to diversify a little…

This allows you to end the year on a good note.

We meet every weekend, Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon. Now, we’re in the home stretch, and we’re not quite ready, so we’re going to see each other every evening this week. It’s also the principle of coming together. We became friends and we see each other, we talk, we have a drink and that’s the atmosphere of the JA and the parade!. This allows us to end the year on a good note.”
