Alexandersson fell fifth in the JPL this season

Freyr Alexandersson did not make it to Christmas at KV Kortrijk. On Tuesday, the Guys announced that the trainer was thanked for services rendered. Alexandersson is already the fifth trainer to be fired in the Jupiler Pro League this season.

In the 2024-2025 season, Christian Lattanzio was the first trainer to leave. STVV announced on September 3 that Italian could go after a missed start to the competition. Felice Mazzu succeeded Lattanzio at Stayen. After the 0-2 defeat against RSC Anderlecht last weekend, the Canaries are in 13th place in the standings.

Speaking of Anderlecht, Riemer was fired there on September 18. The Purple & White replaced the Dane with David Hubert. That helped Anderlecht on its way up. Anderlecht is currently in 3rd place with 33 points. That is 5 fewer than leader KRC Genk.

Fright in the cellar
The other dismissals happened at the bottom of the rankings. Oud-Heverlee Leuven sent Oscar Garcia on November 22 and appointed Chris Coleman not much later after Hans Somers had taken over temporarily. OHL is currently in 11th place with 22 points.

At the beginning of this month – on December 2 – Cercle Brugge also dismissed the trainer. Miron Muslic was replaced in the Jan Breydel Stadium by Ferdinand Feldhofer after Jimmy De Wulf acted as interim pope. Cercle Brugge is also in the relegation zone. Green and Black have 17 points after 18 match days and for the time being only hold Beerschot (11 points) behind them.
