PSV easily qualified for the eighth finals of the KNVB cup tournament on Tuesday evening. Second division player Royal HFC was defeated at home Put aside 8-0.

Hirving Lozano was in the Eindhoven starting line-up. The Mexican will leave for the American San Diego during the winter break and scored the opening goal with a header in his penultimate match for PSV.

The Royal HFC, which won the KNVB Cup three times in the past (in 1904, 1913 and 1915), traveled to the sold-out Philips Stadium with 1,400 people. The Haarlem club wanted to show the supporters who traveled along something and also attacked in Eindhoven. That was only severely punished by the leader of the Premier League.

Pepi important

After Lozano’s 1-0, after just over ten minutes of play, PSV quickly expanded their lead. Ricardo Pepi thought he could make it 2-0 behind his standing leg, but goalkeeper Mitchel Michaelis managed to save the ball. He then worked Pepi’s rebound into his own goal.

Pepi made it 3-0 a few minutes later and Guus Til headed in the fourth goal from a corner kick.

Hirving Lozano’s 1-0

Michaelis, good friends with PSV midfielder Joey Veerman, suddenly had to be careful that his team did not return home with a double-digit defeat.

It didn’t get that far. Although the score did increase enormously. HFC substitute Maxwell Frimpong shot Til’s cross into his teammate Ruben Heeremans. The defender then unfortunately saw the ball roll into his own goal.

Almost a goal of honor

HFC player Levi de Wilde came close to scoring a goal twice more. However, the attacker shot too hastily into the side netting at his first opportunity and was just unable to outwit PSV goalkeeper Joël Drommel at the second opportunity.

PSV then decided to start again. Pepi shot in the rebound after a deflected shot by Armando Obispo: 6-0. Ivan Perisic completed a beautiful ball from Tygo Land (7-0) and also signed for the final score: 8-0.
