Speaking to “Libé”, the mayor of Lombreuil (Loiret) Eric Godey confirms that the tags found target the leader of rebellious France.

The home of the leader of France Insoumise was discovered vandalized by the mayor of the town of some 300 inhabitants, Eric Godey, on Monday December 16.
“As I passed by yesterday morning, I discovered that the fence was lying down. I first thought of an animal like a wild boar before seeing that the shutter was open.reports the elected official to Libé. According to the councilor, the fence was cut and a window was broken. After contacting the gendarmerie and trying unsuccessfully to contact the former presidential candidate, Eric Godey was only able to see the damage from the outside: “I saw through the window that the walls of a room had been sprayed. I couldn't see if any other rooms had been vandalized.”he continues.
The mayor of Lombreuil did not wish to specify the nature of the tags discovered. However, he confirms that they were indeed targeting the politician. “It seemed like revenge”he remarks.

Without giving further details, Jean-Luc Mélenchon for his part reacted on X: “Thank you to my comrades who watch TV for warning me of the deterioration of my house in Loiret. I fear for my books”he wrote, while asking the media to “do not aggravate [sa] endangerment”.
Since the announcement of these damages, indignant political reactions have abounded. “Learning through the press that your home has been damaged is unacceptable. Our endangerment by those who put targets on our backs must immediately stop”condemned on X the president of the La France insoumise (LFI) group Mathilde Panot.
By providing her support, Marine Le Pen considered that “such actions must be the subject of exemplary condemnation”, wishing everything was “undertook to find the culprits of these acts of great cowardice”. The LR mayor of Cannes David Lisnard affirmed that “All this is unacceptable and serious. Our democracy is sick”he posted on X.
Near Libéthe Montargis public prosecutor's office confirms the opening of an investigation entrusted to the Bellegarde gendarmerie brigade (Loiret) “following the discovery of a break-in and damage (insulting and outrageous tags)”. So far, no suspects have been arrested.
