Bruno Brígido and Luís Silva say that expulsion and first goal were decisive – I Liga

Luís Silva, José Faria's assistant, reacted to Estrela da Amadora's defeat against FC Porto. The coach highlighted the early goal as decisive for the outcome of the match, and that it came at a time that the Tricolors did not expect.

“Conceeding a goal, whether from a dead ball or in another situation, is always bad and it called into question our approach to the game. We had to go after the loss, we didn't expect to concede a goal so soon, especially because we were comfortable in the game from the point of departure. defensive view,” he stated.

The amateurs' assistant coach explained the team's idea for the match, but it ended up being changed after the blue and whites' first goal.

“We knew that we wouldn't have as much ball as in other games and we managed to take away some offensive depth from the FC Porto team, we were neutralizing the opponent's offensive actions, but the first goal unlocked the game in favor of FC Porto”, he highlighted.

Luís Silva stated that Estrela had a good start in the second half, but that Danilo's expulsion ended up ruining everything.

“In the second half, we had an excellent situation to draw, but, after the expulsion [Danilo Veiga, aos 74′]it was covering your head to uncover your feet… We wanted to take something more from here than a good attitude, but it was in a move like that that the 2-0 came about”

Bruno Brígido regretted the goal conceded in the first minutes. Estrela's goalkeeper highlighted the team's attitude throughout the game and hopes that they learned from the match.

“Unfortunately, I think we suffered too soon. This interferes with our strategy. We played the first half according to what we prepared. We contained FC Porto's chances. In the second, they had more volume and then with one less element we took risks. Lost by one or two didn't make a difference.

The Brazilian goalkeeper argues that the result is too large, leaving a word of thanks to the tricolor fans who were at Dragão.

“Of course it's not good when it happens, but it's an opportunity to show the value of the squad and today was proof of that. 1-0 was better, perhaps. We didn't really miss those who were absent. A word to the fans who came so far”
