The Municipality of Caraguatatuba, through the Municipal Finance Secretariat, defined the due dates for the Urban Property and Territorial Tax (IPTU) for 2025. Decree No. 2,065/2024, with the discount percentages for cash payments and the due date of the installments monthly IPTU tax for next year, was published in Edition 1,468 of the Official Gazette of the Municipality this Tuesday (10/12).
The single quota, with a 10% discount, will expire on February 20th. There will also be an option to pay in cash, with a 5% discount, until March 20th. It is still possible to pay the booklet in 10 installments, with the first installment due on March 20th and the last on December 22nd.
Article 125 of the Municipal Tax Code (Complementary Law No. 1/1997) provides for the payment of IPTU in installments, in numbers and within deadlines set by the mayor, through decree, with a discount of up to 10% on the total assessment, if paid all at once, in a single installment, in the form established in the aforementioned decree.
In Caraguatatuba, the correction in IPTU 2025 considers the same value as the correction in the Municipal Reference Value (VRM), which was 4.60% (variation from November 2023 to October 2024). The VRM is calculated based on the National Consumer Price Index (INPC) of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and will increase from R$4.60 to R$4.81 from January 1, 2025.
Decree No. 2,062, of November 25, 2024, with the VRM for the fiscal year 2025, was published in Edition 1,461 of the Official Electronic Gazette of December 2nd.
