What would the La Liga standings look like without VAR?

The Spanish press tried to establish what the La Liga standings would be without VAR. For her, a new leader in Spain would exist if video assistance did not exist.

VAR is not the most popular assistance in Spain. As in or elsewhere, its use raises questions and certain decisions are confusing. So, AS launched a regularly updated ranking on what La Liga would look like without video refereeing assistance.

The leader would thus be called Atlético de Madrid. The Colchoneros would have three more points ahead of FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. The two Clasico rivals only “lost” one unit due to VAR for AS. Mallorca would be the club with the most help with six points more estimated. The changes after 18 days remain minimal for the moment but prompt intense reflection in Spain.

Some club managers and experts wonder whether its use is necessary in view of the errors made by referees. Javier Tebas has already decided to part ways with goal-line technology this season.
