the Insoumis will not go to Matignon to meet François Bayrou

Guest on TF1, the national coordinator of LFI Manuel Bompard reaffirmed his intention to censor the new prime minister.

Barely named François Bayrou, already censored? In any case, this is the intention of the Insoumis, who have not “neither the intention to participate in government, nor the intention to negotiate a non-censorship pact”as explained by Manuel Bompard, guest this morning on TF1. The national coordinator of LFI is already planning the general policy speech of the new Prime Minister. “On this occasion, we hope that there will be a vote of confidence (…) and if there is not, there will be a motion of censure”at-il having you.

For the sake of “political coherence”the Insoumis will not go to Matignon this Monday, despite the invitation from François Bayrou who is beginning a series of consultations with the presidents of the National Assembly groups. “I am not going to participate in the comedy of red lines”mocked the leader of the Mélenchonist movement. LFI thus takes the opposite view of its allies, the socialists, ecologists and communists having accepted the invitation of the Prime Minister.

Does this mean that the Insoumis are insensitive to the positions of the president of the Democratic Movement, defender of a climate ISF and supporter of another pension reform? Yes, according to Manuel Bompard: “I know that the Christmas period is coming, but I am not going to make people believe that Mr. Bayrou is going to be hit with a revelation to pursue politics that goes against what the MoDem deputies have been doing for seven years.”

“Let parliamentarians vote”

While according to information from l’Opinion the socialist deputy for Eure, Philippe Brun, refused the Ministry of the Economy, Manuel Bompard warned left-wing personalities tempted to join François Bayrou's team. “Anyone who joins this government will irremediably distance themselves from the New Popular Front”warned Jean-Luc Mélenchon's right arm, believing that left-wing elected officials should not “serve as a crutch for the continuity of macronism”.

Finally, the national coordinator of LFI called on the President of the National Assembly to “let parliamentarians vote” on the amendment aimed at indexing income tax scales to inflation. Yaël Braun-Pivet has the possibility of declaring it inadmissible. It could rely on the opinion of the Council of State which considers that this measure falls outside the scope of the special law, debated this afternoon in the National Assembly. “This is an advisory opinion, evacuated Manuel Bompard. In the end, it is up to parliamentarians to decide.”
