Other than a show for the 125th anniversary, Milan disappoints its fans

Everything was set for a great evening of celebration: from the shirt specially created to celebrate 125 years of history to the presence of various legends of the club, through to the show that animated the pre-match. In reality, however, Milan offered a truly dull show to their fans, slowing down in the face of an orderly Genoa team capable of defending the 0-0 draw until the 90th minute. On the pitch with the young Jimenez and Liberali (the latter making his debut) from the 1st minute, the Rossoneri only got their best chances towards the end: from a more than favorable position, Morata nevertheless failed twice, also due to the crossbar. The ranking, then, sadly says eighth place, -14 from the top.

In the other matches on Sunday in Italy, worth mentioning are Sohm’s brace (he has reached three goals for the season) against Verona, who were in any case a 3-2 corsair to Parma, as well as Como’s 2-0 against Roma, which fell back into a crisis that not even Ranieri seems to know how to cure. After eight consecutive victories, Fiorentina’s run instead stopped in Bologna, in the presence of the former Italian: in the decisive 1-0 final the former Lugano player Odgaard, assisted by Freuler. On the other hand, the conditions of another Swiss player, Ndoye, will need to be assessed, having been replaced at the break due to a contusion-sprain trauma to his left ankle.
