Despite the intervention of emergency services, the victim could not be resuscitated. A 35 year old woman East deceased this Thursday, December 12, 2024 after having been hit by a train of the RER C near a level crossing located in the town of Igny (Essonne).

The death was noted on the spot by emergency services.

The alert was given vers 6 h 30 this morning by the driver of the train who was taking around sixty travelers to Massy Palaiseau.

Firefighters quickly arrived on site to assist the victim. However, his death was noted by emergency services and funeral directors were called to intervene on site.

The driver was supported by SNCF services, according to the departmental fire and rescue service which hired four firefighters for this intervention.

At the same time, thejudicial police officer carried out the first acts of investigation at the scene of the tragedy. Investigations will have to determine whether it was a suicide or an accident.

Traffic interrupted for 3 hours between Versailles and Massy

This “serious personal accident” had the repercussion the interruption of traffic between Massy Palaiseau and Versailles Chantiersin both directions of traffic.

First announced at 8:45 a.m., the resumption of traffic was finally postponed by one hour to allow the various operations to continue.

Before traffic resumes, the train stopped on the track resumed its march towards Massy Palaiseau around 9:20 a.m.
