Two bears hugging, a chimpanzee scratching his chin in search of a good idea, a fish chasing an eagle… It is on the register of humor that the photographs distinguished each year by the jury play. The winner of the all-category prize awarded on Tuesday December 10 in London is the Italian Milko Marchetti for his image of a squirrel which seems stuck in the cavity of a trunk. The photo was taken from a photographic hide in the Podere Pantaleone park, in Bagnacavallo, Italy, on April 23, 2022.
Founded in 2015 by Paul Joynson-Hicks, wildlife photographer, the competition today has an international dimension, and there are several thousand images that the jury must decide between, in several categories: mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians, etc.
