This Saturday, December 7, Patrick Sabatier was the guest of Facing Hanouna on C8, exceptionally hosted by Pascale de La Tour du Pin. Very moved, he revealed that he had spoken with Alain Delon shortly before his death last August.

Since the 1970s, Patrick Sabatier has enjoyed great success hosting several radio and television shows. One of them is The truth gamea talk show in which celebrities were invited to answer questions from the audience. It was within the framework of this show that the host and the actor Alain Delon met, as he recounted in Facing Hanouna, which was presented by Pascale de La Tour du Pin for an exceptional reason on C8 this Saturday, December 7.

Patrick Sabatier was able to speak one last time to Alain Delon before his death

French cinema was a little more orphaned after the death of Alain Delon on August 18 at the age of 88. For Patrick Sabatier, the pain is still strong since the disappearance of his friend. “He was the first guest” from the show The truth gamewhich was broadcast from January 1985 to May 1986, he confides before specifying: “He had given his agreement eight months before and he kept his word. On January 11, 1985, he was there at 8:20 a.m..” Just before entering the set of the show, he said a sentence that Isabelle Laburthe's husband will never forget: “We can’t not succeed.” With tears in his eyes, Patrick Sabatier hesitates to confirm to Pascale de La Tour du Pin that he was able to speak one last time to the Cheetah a few days before his death: “We spoke to each other”, he said modestly. Questioned by the journalist about the content of this conversation and Alain Delon's state of mind before dying, he added with obvious respect: “There are times for everything and I believe that Mr. Delon accepted the moment that was about to arrive. I think it was a lesson. Until the last moment, you never know how you will behave. I can't imagine. He had already planned, imagined and wished.”

Alain Delon was a faithful friend to Patrick Sabatier

Among the guests on his show who have remained loyal to him, Patrick Sabatier cites Johnny Hallyday and Charles Aznavour. However, he distinguishes Alain Delon, who has always been present in “the ups and downs” since the premiere of Truth game : “We never left each other. Every time I had something to ask him, not to come on the show, but to exchange a point of view, he was always there […] In our profession, there is everything, but there are very good people.”
