The American CNN network quoted a Syrian source as saying that Bashar al-Assad is not present in any of the locations in the city where you are expected to find him.
The source added that Assad’s presidential guard was no longer deployed at his usual residence, as it would have been if he had been there, raising speculation that he may have fled Damascus.
According to the source, “The opposition forces do not have any confirmed intelligence information about Assad’s whereabouts and are continuing their efforts to find him.”
For his part, Bloomberg quoted informed sources as saying that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is ready for an agreement that allows him to hold on to the areas remaining under his control or guarantee his safe exit.
The source explained, “Assad is making his last attempt to remain in power” through indirect initiatives with Washington and President-elect Donald Trump.
The website suggested that the Syrian President would be in Tehran, according to what it quoted from a source he described as informed.
Informed sources were quoted as saying that Al-Assad proposes enacting a new constitution and holding talks with the political opposition.

In turn, the Syrian presidency categorically denied the reports that spoke of President Bashar al-Assad leaving the capital, Damascus, or the country in general.
The presidency said in a statement: “Some foreign media are publishing rumors and false news about President Bashar al-Assad leaving Damascus, or lightning visits to one country or another.”
She commented, “The Presidency of the Syrian Arab Republic denies all these rumours, notes their exposed goals, and confirms that they are not new. Rather, these means have previously followed this pattern of attempts to mislead and influence the Syrian state and society throughout the past years of war.”
She stressed that “the President is following up on his work and national and constitutional tasks from the capital, Damascus. It stresses that all news, activities and positions related to President Al-Assad emanate from the platforms of the Presidency of the Republic and the Syrian national media.”
Pages talked about the possibility of Assad fleeing outside Damascus towards the coast, or outside Syria.
Media previously reported that the Assad family left early in the battle to “deter aggression” for Russia.
Armed opposition factions reached the outskirts of the capital, Damascus, on Saturday, and local factions announced control of areas in the Damascus countryside.
