‘Pieces Van Mensen’ has already proven several times that The Sky is indeed the limit, and in episode nine that is taken very literally.
Jori Martens, known from the Play4 program ‘The Sky is the Limit’, comes by with a very special object. He brought a bronze sculpture by the Dutch artist Joseph Klibansky. “It’s a fat crocodile that can no longer touch the ground with its legs,” says Jori. ‘Klibansky is booming internationally, so I would want €40,000 to €45,000 for it.’
Paul De Grande sometimes dares to go far during his negotiations, and that is also the case this time. ‘I’m going to try and buy it as an investment. I don’t actually have any customers for it, but it does appeal to me. Something like that doesn’t come onto the market so quickly.’ His opening bid of €20,000 leaves Jori cold, but Paul soon climbs towards €40,000. The bed seller is not yet completely convinced, although he has to admit that he is getting closer. Who ultimately goes home with the blown-up crocodile in the backseat is still a mystery.
