The police proceedings for the fatal accident in Playa del Inglés are already in court

The police proceedings initiated by the fatal accident on the sand of Playa del Inglés are already in court. Municipal sources specify that the report, prepared by members of the Local Police of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, does not specify the crime supposedly committed by the person investigated, it only details his reckless nature.

At first they informed this newspaper that a crime against road safety for reckless driving was attributed to him. The agents have finally opted for the court to determine the crime, whether it is reckless homicide or reckless driving.

The accident occurred this Monday, when a pick-up vehicle serving one of the beach kiosks passed over a 64-year-old German tourist who was sunbathing on the sand.

The accident occurred near Kiosk number 4 around 12:30 p.m., outside the hours allowed by municipal regulations for the circulation of vehicles that supply the beach bars. The morning slot is limited to the hours between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

The driver, a 50-year-old man who was not arrested because there was no flight risk, has always said that he did not see the victim. What’s more, he didn’t even realize that he had run over her.
