After the day of taxi mobilization on Monday, the call for strike launched by public service unions, with the exception of FO, this Thursday, December 5, should cause new disruptions in different sectors.

A united call for massive mobilization. Following the blockades organized by taxis against the new agreement under discussion with Health Insurance, new disruptions are expected this Thursday, December 5, as part of the national day of action and strike launched by the unions of the public service. Seven out of eight trade union organizations – CGT, CFDT, UNSA, FSU, Solidaires, CFE-CGC and FA-FP – are calling on civil servants to demonstrate following government announcements on the establishment of three waiting days and the reduction in sick leave compensation in the public service. Only FO has opted for a renewable movement from December 11. In the processions will march together, National Education staff, railway workers, territorial agents, hospital staff… A day presented by the unions as the starting point for even stronger mobilization at the end of the year.
Demonstrations in the streets
- In Bouches-du-Rhône: Marseille (10:30 a.m. at the Réformés), Arles (10:30 a.m. Music kiosk).

In the Alpes-de-Haute Provence: Digne-les-Bains (10:30 a.m. at the Academic Inspection, 11:00 a.m., Place Charles de Gaulle).

In the Hautes-Alpes: Gap (10:30 a.m. in front of the prefecture).
- In Vaucluse: Avignon (10:00 a.m. Jean Jaurès class).
Closures of classes and canteens in schools, colleges and high schools
National education unions, such as the FSU, Unsa Education and SUD, are announcing a strong mobilization of their troops. Teachers, educational and administrative staff are called to stop work on Tuesday.
The strike by municipal after-school service agents will also impact catering services in schools. Many canteens will be closed. In certain establishments, students may be welcomed and have lunch on site during the lunch break, bringing a cold meal.
Train delays and cancellations
TGV, Ouigo or TER train delays, cancellations… travelers will have to take precautions when traveling on the rail this Thursday. SNCF management indicates that traffic forecasts will however only be known the day before and detailed forecasts communicated on December 4 at 5:00 p.m.
Will there be trains at Christmas? After the ultimatum day of November 21, the railway workers prepared Act 2 of their mobilization.
The CGT, Unsa railway, Sud Rail and CFDT-FGTE Cheminots unions have already filed a notice of a united strike in all services, renewable and unlimited per period of 24 hours, from December 11 at 7:00 p.m.
Disruptions in administrative services
This Thursday, hospital staff, town hall and tax agents are also called to mobilize as part of this day of action and strike. Reception could be disrupted in town halls, but not in hospitals.
Prison guards also called to join the movement. Rallies are planned in front of prison centers.
Gas workers and electricians too
Employees of EDF, Enedis, and the entire electricity and gas sector are expected to join the civil servants' discontent this December 5 as part of the ongoing salary negotiations in the companies. Notice begins the day before at 9 p.m. for night shifts.
The movement is renewable, but should not have visible consequences for individuals.
