The president of the far-right party, Jordan Bardella, believes that the Prime Minister has until 3 p.m. this Monday, December 2 to “reconsider his copy.”
The fate of the Barnier government already decided? Invited this Monday, December 2 on RTL, the president of the National Rally Jordan Bardella indicated that “barring a last minute miracle”, the far-right party would “activate the mechanism of the vote of censure.”
“If Michel Barnier were to review his copy by 3 p.m.”, the Lepénist troops could change their tune. “But I have little hope that he will be touched by grace given that we have been knowingly ignored and despised for several months,” adds Jordan Bardella.
The Barnier government “responsible”
During this same interview, Jordan Bardella assured him, “it's over” regarding the budget, returning the “responsibility” to the government on RTL. The president of the RN evokes statements to Le Parisien from Laurent Saint-Martin, Minister of the Budget, this weekend.
The latter affirmed in the daily that the text was no longer subject to change, after Michel Barnier's concessions, particularly on electricity.
“When the budget minister says 'I will no longer move', it is precisely that he considers and acknowledges the end of the round of negotiations,” says Jordan Bardella.
New concessions
This Monday, the National Assembly decides on the very sensitive Social Security budget, with the possibility of recourse to 49.3 and already the prospect of a motion of censure from the left and the National Rally.
This text, the PLFSS (bill on the financing of social security), resulting from a compromise between a committee of senators and deputies, will be examined from 3 p.m.
As it stands, it should not be voted on by either the left or the far right, in a divided Assembly.
After having obtained that the government abandons the increase in taxes on electricity and reduces state medical aid (AME) for undocumented immigrants, the RN demands new concessions, in particular on the revaluation of retirement pensions or a a look back at the reduction in reimbursement for certain medications.
But during the weekend, the Minister of Public Accounts Laurent Saint-Martin supported the text as validated by the joint committee which brought together around fifteen senators and deputies.
