National Assembly President highlights reform of legislative work

The President of the National Assembly, Trân Thanh Mân, called on 1is December the organs and organizations of the political system, in particular the agencies of the National Assembly, to pursue reforms to achieve the socio-economic development goals of 2025, thus contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the XIIIe National Congress of the Party and the preparation of the XIVe National Party Congress.

Speaking at the national conference on the review of the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the XIIe Party Central Committee, the socio-economic situation in 2024 and the directions for 2025, Trân Thanh Mân announced that the XVe National Assembly, during its recent 8e session, had adopted 18 laws and 21 resolutions, including the investment policy for the North-South high-speed rail project, which demonstrated the aspiration, spirit of innovation and willingness to take action drastic measures to overcome challenges and open up great opportunities for the country.

The National Assembly, its agencies, and deputies, will focus on key tasks, including fully and timely implementing the newly adopted laws and resolutions, preparing the agendas of the 9e et 10e sessions of the National Assembly, and take stock of the activities of the People's Councils and delegations of deputies in 2024, said Trân Thanh Mân.

The top lawmaker also stressed the importance of focusing on raising awareness among the people about the important meanings of streamlining the organizational structure of the political system, practicing savings and combating waste.

Trân Thanh Mân also insisted on the preparations for the elections of deputies of the 16e legislature of the National Assembly and members of the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
