Barnier government threatened with censorship, crucial day in the Assembly

What can happen when using 49.3?

The Prime Minister admitted that he would “probably, definitely” use 49.3 to pass the social security financing bill. How is it going? The text is deemed adopted if no motion of censure against the government is passed, recalls Reuters.

This motion can only be examined within at least 48 hours after its filing, i.e. Wednesday. She must collect 289 votes to bring down the executive.

The left and its nearly 200 elected officials, from LFI (La insoumise) to the Socialist Party, unanimously display their intention to vote for censorship. The RN, with 124 deputies, holds the key to this motion. If it collectively decides to vote for it, then the government falls.
