The National Rally in the lead in the first round of the partial legislative election in the Ardennes

The candidate of the National Rally (RN), Jordan Duflot, came first on Sunday in the first round of the partial legislative election in the first constituency of the Ardennes, organized after the resignation of RN deputy Flavien Termet, with 39.12% of the votes. .

Lionel Vuibert, former deputy and various right-wing candidate, came in second position with 25.42% of the votes, followed by Guillaume Maréchal (LR) with 16.04% of the votes, according to the results communicated by the Ardennes prefecture to the AFP. The New Popular Front candidate, Damien Lerouge, received 10.64% of the vote. A second round is due to be held on December 8.

Jordan Duflot, 27, is a departmental youth delegate for the National Rally of the Ardennes and a management executive in a social structure.

He was chosen to represent his party after the resignation of Flavien Termet, the youngest member of the National Assembly who announced in September, two months after his election, his resignation “for personal medical reasons”.

“I am unable to fully exercise this mandate,” Flavien Termet wrote in a press release, claiming to be “no longer able to fight body and soul” and to make “this painful decision” because he is “forced” to do so.

Coming from , where he was born and studied, this young RN employee took over in July the 1st constituency of the Ardennes conquered two years earlier by Lionel Vuibert who then ran under the Ensemble label.

Lionel Vuibert, 56, general director of the training centers of the Union of Metallurgical Industries and Trades of Champagne-Ardenne (UIMM) and son of a former deputy of the department, is also departmental advisor.
