The Celtics will be without Jaylen Brown and Derrick White when they face the Cavaliers on Sunday night.

Brown is dealing with a non-COVID illness, and White has a right foot sprain.

The Celtics originally listed Jrue Holiday (right adductor tightness), Al Horford (left big toe sprain), Kristaps Porzingis (left PTT return from injury management), and White as questionable. With Brown and White out, Holiday, Horford, and Porzingis were all upgraded to available.

Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla told reporters that Porzingis and Horford will play together on a back to back because Brown and White are out.

This will be the fifth game Brown has missed out of 20. White, who left Friday’s game against the Bulls and didn’t return, will sit for the first time this season.

The Celtics have won seven straight and are looking to beat the Cavaliers for the second time in two weeks. A win would vault the Celtics into first place in the Eastern Conference, with a matchup against the Heat set for Monday night in Boston.
